Michael Riesen is an Intellectual Property Attorney, and partner at Smith Gambrell and Russell. Michael is also the Executive Director of SGR Labs, a legal tech initiative that provides a platform for research and collaboration, focusing on software implementation, data analytics, and automation. Michael is a former Physics and Electronics teacher and has over fifteen years’ experience in technology and law. Michael holds a J.D. from the University of Toledo, an M.S. degree in Engineering (Machine Learning) from the University of Toledo, and a B.S. in Physics from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. His areas of research were Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and now focuses on technology and the law. Michael’s academic work has been published in various journals including Artificial Intelligence and the Law.
